Andrew Cholakian - Photography

My interests at the moment are the following: Photography, Programming, Mountain Biking, and Parasites. Currently I work as a Systems Administrator in Agoura Hills, CA and live in Woodland Hills, CA. I'm a voracious reader, and share my favorite blog posts, and my favorite You Tube videos.

I usually don't stage my shots in advance, I find them. Most of the shots I take are not set up meticulously, though they are framed with great care. I do set up certain shots like the photos of the doll, the girl with a strawberry in one eye, and a few others.

As far as image processing goes, I have always gone for as light a touch as possible. I usually tweak casts and basic contrast in L*A*B* Color, then move into RGB to create hue variance between shadow and highlight.

The shots presented on this page were made mostly with a Canon 20D. Others were shot with a pentax film camera. A few were shot with a Holga, and one was shot with a Moskva 5 which is an old 6x9 folding camera from Soviet Russia.

A couple of my photos were featured on File Magazine. I recommend browsing their site, they have an impressive collection of photography.
